The 2024 Mini EV Challenge is open to all Hunter Valley Primary and Secondary Schools and will be held Wednesday the 27th November 2024 from 9am – 3pm at Tighes Hill TAFE. It’s a day where teams get to race the solar vehicles they’ve prepared in the classroom in advance. It’s a fun day of racing, competing and cheering on your teams.
The goal of the Mini EV Challenge is to stimulate careers, innovation, team work, skills and development and entrepreneurialism in solar vehicle design and construction. By assisting students to learn the skills of engineering and photovoltaics, this event will provide students with an insight into STEM learning.
For teachers, this may present a challenge because they have to know enough to be able to share their skills with their students. If you’re unsure about solar vehicle design and want to know more so that you can feel confident passing on your skills, Career Links is very pleased to be able to offer you a FREE workshop where you will learn everything you need to know to participate in this fun and engaging event.
The free workshop for teachers will be held on 1st August 2024 from 4pm-5.30pm at Tighes Hill TAFE. Michael from Kite Magic will answer all your questions regarding solar vehicle design and construction. Each participant will receive one FREE kit per teacher. Choose a car or boat!
